Our Journey at Global Therapy Training

Global Therapy Training was born from a shared vision among experienced lecturers who recognised the limitations within traditional educational frameworks. During our time teaching at a college, we often felt restricted by rigid curricula that prevented us from fully addressing the diverse needs of learners and the dynamic nature of the professional landscape.

We believed that a truly effective educational experience should not be a “cookie-cutter” approach. Our goal was to design courses that are flexible and tailored to the specific requirements of organisations and practitioners. We wanted to create programmes that not only meet the academic standards but also fill the gaps present in professional workplaces, ensuring that our learners are equipped with relevant and applicable skills.

Understanding that the world is constantly evolving, we are committed to keeping our courses up to date with current trends and practices in therapy and counselling. At Global Therapy Training, we focus on providing innovative, engaging, and practical learning experiences that empower individuals to thrive in their professions.

Our dedication to high-quality education has led us to develop a range of bespoke courses that prioritise the needs of our learners, allowing them to gain knowledge and skills that are directly applicable to their career paths. Join us on this journey, and experience the difference that tailored, contemporary training can make in your professional development.

Hello, I’m Alex, a Counselling Psychologist with over 23 years of experience supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellbeing. I have worked across Portugal, America, and England, providing evidence-based psychotherapy to children, at-risk youth, adults, couples, families, and the elderly in diverse settings, including psychiatric facilities, mental health organisations, schools, and private practice.

As an EMDR Certified Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, I specialise in trauma-informed therapy. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable exploring their inner thoughts and emotions helping individuals heal from complex trauma and other mental health challenges. I integrate various evidence-based approaches, including Psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, CPT, CFT, Humanistic therapies, and other integrative therapies, ensuring a personalised approach. I also incorporate sound therapy as a qualified Gong Practitioner, using sound healing to support relaxation and emotional processing.

As a clinical supervisor, my goal is to support and guide professional colleagues in their personal and professional development, helping them become their own supervisors while fostering ethical and client centred practice. Committed to lifelong learning, I continuously expand my knowledge to enhance my practice and better serve those I support.

With over 15 years of experience as an educator and recently awarded a FHEA, I aim to continue to expand my impact and expertise by developing training and CPD programmes for practitioners at all levels and ensure all receive high quality education and guidance as they progress in their careers. Passionate about collaboration in our field, I strive to promote best practices and build a strong professional community.

Hello, I’m Amie, a dedicated and passionate counsellor with a diverse range of qualifications and extensive experience supporting children, young people, and adults. Throughout my career, my focus has been on providing compassionate, person-centred counselling, supervision, and education. I firmly believe that everyone deserves a safe and supportive environment in which they can explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.

I am qualified in trauma therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), and I incorporate hypnotherapy into my practice alongside a variety of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and STAIR. All of these approaches are grounded in a person-centred philosophy, ensuring safety, stabilisation, and empowerment for my clients at every stage of their journey.

As I look to the future, I am eager to share my expertise on a global platform. My aim is to develop and deliver comprehensive training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes that are accessible to mental health practitioners, educators, and support workers at all levels. I believe in fostering collaboration within the wider mental health community, working together to promote best practice, enhance skills, and create a supportive network for both professionals and those we work with.

My passion is to inspire confidence, promote understanding, and contribute to the ongoing development of quality mental health support across the UK and beyond.
